Headley, who’s hitting .217, with six home runs and 25 RBI’s has been involved in multiple trade talks for the past couple of weeks.
And Despite his pedestrian numbers, Headley is considered around baseball as one of the best players available following his MVP calibre second half of last season. It is thought moving to a hitters friendly ballpark and a change of scenery could ignite similar results in 2014.
The Blue Jays have been forced to move quickly after news that Edwin Encarnacion has been ruled out for four weeks and it seems they’ve landed on Headley as the immediate infield help they need.
