Pandemonium In Milwaukee: Thumb Surgery A Very Real Possibility For Ryan Braun

Uh oh.

It’s bad news for Brewers’ fans and fantasy owners alike. Ryan Braun is now a surgery candidate.

Braun–whose thumb starting bothering him last May–admitted Friday that the thumb is numb due to a nerve issue, which has led to blisters because he can’t tell how hard he’s gripping the bat.

While surgery is a distinct possibility for the 5x all-star, there’s no guarantee it’ll work, so Braun and the Brewers are holding off. He”ll attempt to play through it, but there’s no denying this will put a damper on Braun’s production throughout the season, and if he’s unable to perform, it could be the second straight lost campaign for the 30-year-old.
